About Us

Oceans7 is a nonprofit foundation focused on marine ecological issues that affect people worldwide: clean energy, sustainable fishing, restoring oceanic ecosystems, and pollution control. Oceans7 is applying new understandings of the changes required to restore ecological balance to our oceans, and to change the trajectory of previous and current damage.

Our oceans have been severely compromised, especially within the last thirty years, with overfishing, the decimation of oceanic habitats, the ongoing acidification process, and ocean warming. The Oceans7 vision arose from the need to orchestrate collaborative efforts among all like-minded environmental organizations. Too often, multiple research projects are being conducted addressing the same issues without collaboration, resulting in wasted efforts and resources. Oceans7 will work collaboratively with academia, non-profit research and implementation projects, government programs, United Nations ocean programs, and privately funded efforts. We support developing and testing ocean reforestation methods to address critical ocean challenges using unique habitat rebuilding processes. A main focus will be growing both commercial and habitat kelp beds while also providing much-needed carbon sequestration. Our off-shore platforms will be a base for scientific research, educational classes, tourism, food harvests, and an ocean base for other solutions.

Ocean7’s mission is built on the work of other ocean pioneers and established foundations to “connect the dots” of current research and development on ocean issues in a synergistic model that can be applied world-wide.

Earth’s oceans have taken the brunt of global warming devastation. As atmospheric carbon and greenhouse gases have surged in the last thirty years, we need to mitigate quickly and at scale. With newly developing technologies, the oceans offer a cost effective and scalable addition to the many land-based solutions for reversing global warming.

Ocean7 is a non-profit to connect with ongoing foundations’ manpower and expertise toward a quicker roll out of coordinated resources to scale at the speed needed. We have also identified several potential profit-generating activities to power the ocean’s ecological turn around. Oceans are a resource that cover most of the Earth’s surface, holding the bulk of all earth’s water, as well as many possibilities!

Oceans7 focuses on ocean regeneration and restoration as a global commons, to benefit humanity and all of diversified nature. Come aboard, we’ll set sail soon!
